Black Princesses humbled 4-0 by France in pre-World Cup friendly

Ghana’s Black Princesses were humbled as they lost 4-0 to the France U-20 women’s team in a friendly game at Clairefontaine in France on Friday afternoon as they prepare for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

A first-half brace from Vicki Becho, a smart finish from Esther Mbakem-Nairo and a penalty from Laurina Fazer ensured victory for the hosts.

Vicki got unto the socresheet in the 15th minute, slotting the ball past the helpless Ghanaian goalkeeper and doubled the team’s advantage seven minutes later with a good finish.

France went into the break with a 2-0 advantage and further diminished Ghana’s hopes of a comeback after recess via a goal from Esther Mbakem-Nairo. Laurina Fazer made it four in the 75th minute from 12 yards, sealing the win for the French side.

The Black Princesses have little time left to prepare for Costa Rica after being drawn in Group D of the U-20 Women’s World Cup against USA, Netherlands and Japan with rhe competition starting on 10th August.
