Black Queens Triumph Over Teranga Lionesses in Friendly Match

The Black Queens of Ghana secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses in an international friendly held on Saturday at Stade Lat-Dior in Senegal. This win is a significant boost for the team as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Evelyn Badu was the hero of the match, scoring the only goal with a powerful header in the 24th minute, expertly assisted by a precise cross from Princess Marfo. The Black Queens displayed impressive teamwork and determination throughout the match, but their resilience was truly tested when they were reduced to 10 players following Anasthesia Achiaa’s red card in the 63rd minute.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Black Queens held firm against the Teranga Lionesses, showcasing their defensive strength and tactical discipline to maintain their lead until the final whistle.

This victory marks an important milestone in the Black Queens’ preparations for WAFCON, highlighting their growing confidence and capability on the pitch. The two teams are set to meet again on Tuesday as part of their nine-day training tour, providing another opportunity for both sides to refine their strategies ahead of the prestigious tournament.
