Black Stars fall out of top 60 in FIFA rankings

Ghana have fallen out of the top 60 in the latest FIFA rankings, following a disappointing performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Black Stars, who were previously ranked 60th in the world, have slipped down to 61st place after failing to impress in their recent matches.

They began their World Cup qualifying campaign with a hard-fought win against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, but their fortunes took a turn for the worse when they lost narrowly to Comoros at the Moroni Stadium.

This loss proved costly, as it not only dented Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, but also led to a decline in their FIFA ranking.

Despite this setback, the Black Stars remain a force to be reckoned with on the African stage. They are still ranked 11th in Africa, with the top 10 teams on the continent remaining unchanged.

However, the team will need to improve their performance if they hope to regain their standing among the world’s elite football nations.
