Black Stars Move Up to 76th in FIFA Rankings After World Cup Qualifier Success
Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, has made a notable upward shift in the latest FIFA rankings, climbing to 76th place globally.
This marks their first improvement since July 2024, when they moved from 64th to 60th.
The Black Stars’ rise follows a successful start to 2025, highlighted by victories over Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
These wins were particularly significant as they ended a winless streak that dated back to June, when they last defeated the Central African Republic.
With this recent success, Ghana has surpassed Israel in the rankings, who has dropped two spots.
Despite their global advancement, the Black Stars remain 14th in the African continental rankings.
Coach Otto Addo is optimistic about building on this momentum and aims to further enhance the team’s standing when they resume international action later this year.
