Black Stars: President Akufo-Addo calls on GFA to retain current technical team

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the GFA to keep the current technical team for the upcoming World Cup after securing qualification in Abuja against Nigeria via the away goal rule.

The triumphant Black Stars were received by the President at his residence, the Jubilee House, led by their captain for the tie by deputy captain Thomas Partey.

Speaking at the Jubilee House when the team paid a courtesy call on him at the Presidency on Wednesday afternoon,  he had special words for the technical team, acknowledging  their heroics and the fact that the GFA retains the whole set up for the World Cup in Qatar.

“I’m hoping that the technical team that has been put together for these two matches will at least take us through the World Cup itself.”

“Mr Okraku, do whatever you can do to make sure the team stays together, at least until Qatar, then afterwards, we can take a long-tern decision.”
