Black Stars Touch Down in Libya for Crucial AFCON Qualifier Against Sudan
The Black Stars have arrived in Benina, Libya, preparing to face Sudan in a critical 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. Ghana aims for their first victory in the qualifiers, having drawn twice and lost once in their initial three matches.
This marks the teams’ second encounter, with their previous match in Accra ending in a 0-0 draw. Due to ongoing political instability, Sudan has chosen Libya as their temporary home venue.
The Ghanaian squad departed Accra on Sunday morning and landed at Benina International Airport around 6:30 p.m. local time. They will hold a pre-match training session at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Monday, ahead of kick-off on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. GMT.
As they sit third in Group F, a win is crucial for Ghana to bolster their chances of qualification, especially with Sudan and group leaders Angola ahead of them.
