BoG denies dismissing 90% of newly recruited staff

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has denied a news item circulating on social media asserting that it has dismissed 90% of recently recruited staff.

In a statement issued by the BoG, the Bank notes that the news item circulating on social media has been twisted to misinform the general public.

In its defense, the Central Bank notes that only two of its staff have been sacked over the fact that the two provided fake certificates as part of their employment documentation.

“As part of due diligence process during and post recruitment, those found to have presented forged documentation are either dropped from the recruitment process or their services terminated if already on-boarded and on probation,” the BoG explained.

Adding that, “The Bank of Ghana wishes to put on record that dismissals are a regular Human Resources Management function for staff whose conduct is unsatisfactory or have committed an offence as stipulated in the Bank’s handbook on Human Resources Policies.”
