Brazil 3-0 Ghana: The Samba Boys cruise to victory with a dominant first half performance

Brazil cruised pass Ghana as a dominant first half performance ensured the Samba boys beat the Black Stars 3-0 at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France.

Richarlison’s brace in the 28th and 40th minute and Marquinhos’ header in the 9th minute underlined Brazil’s tactical brilliance in the game.

The Black Stars conceded the first goal as early as in the ninth minute after Marquinhos headed from a Raphinha corner kick. The PSG defender was unmarked inside the penalty box and powered his header past Jojo Wollacott.

Richarlison, Lucas Paqueta and Raphinha wasted glorious chances for Brazil which could have seen the scoreline at 4-0. Richarlison made up for his wasted efforts as he scored an angled finish which preceeded a great team build up involving Neymar for Brazil’s second in the 28th minute.

Ghana struggled to create chances especially in the first half and couldn’t hold for the ball for even five minutes of the first half but its best effort came in the second half when Captain Dede Ayew’s header hit the bar after connecting to corner kick from Mohammed Kudus.

The Black Stars were decent in the second half after head coach Otto Addo made several changes in the second half, handing debuts to Salisu Mohammed, Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey.
