Brazil tops chart with 24% Tier for G20 members trade policy summit 2022

The G20 summit that took place on Monday, November 14, 2022 had Brazil bagging 1st position on the chart with 24% tier for the G20 members trade policy mix since the 2021 summit in held in Rome.

The G20 Factbook reveals that a cluster of countries took part in the summit including; China, Canada, UK, USA, Japan, Brazil among others, yet Brazil beat them all to emerge first while Canada performed poorly worst with 99% tier.
According to the factbook, for globalization to be well measured for profit making for all, the global trade alert team has developed new ways to record policy interventions that affect across-boarder commerce.
“We are committed to democratizing access to such information so that more effective policies can be identified through analysis with the ultimate goal of strengthening the role of international trade as an engine for human developments for decades to come, and the release of our G20 Factbook is another step towards that goal,” said the G20.
G20 members represents 85% of global  GDP, 75% of international trade and 23% of the world’s population. Countries that make up the G20 are responsible for 78.4% of all the commercial policy interventions documented by the global trade alert team.
Almost all (98%) of the information gathered for the G20 trade policies comes from government websites and international organizations where truthful disclosure is mandatory by law.
The G20 Factbook further revealed how its members are ranked, “between the Rome and Bali G20 leaders summit, G20 members implemented a total of 1,418 unilateral policy interventions that affects cross-boarders access to their National goods market. For each G20 member, information was extracted from the GTA database on the policy interventions affecting goods trade that have been implemented since 2021 Rome Summit. Also calculations were done on the total dollar value of goods trade affected by trade distorting measures and by trade reforms and more.”
