Broadcast Partnership with Adesa Productions to Transform Premier League – GFA President

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has announced that the new broadcast deal with Adesa Productions Limited (APL) will significantly elevate the Premier League and strengthen its financial sustainability.

The joint partnership, he explained, is the result of a carefully crafted strategy aimed at ushering in a new era for the league, combining top-tier production quality with improved revenue streams for participating clubs.

“Our GPL will see a big boost as a result of a carefully modelled strategy which has resulted in a joint partnership deal with Adesa Productions Limited with the full backing of the Government,” President Simeon-Okraku stated during the 31st session of Congress on Tuesday August 12, 2025.

Under this agreement, the GPL will benefit from top-tier television production that will showcase the league at a professional and visually compelling standard, bringing Ghanaian football closer to global broadcast quality. Importantly, the deal will channel substantial financial resources to participating clubs, recognizing their sacrifices and commitment.

“This partnership will not only bring in top-level TV production of our league but also good financial resources to our clubs, who have sacrificed a lot.” he added.

As part of the strategy, each of the 18 GPL clubs will receive a minimum of GHS1,000,000 per season, marking the most significant financial injections in the league’s history. The agreement also includes strong investment in the promotion and marketing of the GPL, aimed at boosting the league’s brand visibility and fan engagement nationwide.

The commercialization plan extends beyond television. President Simeon-Okraku revealed that a similar approach will be applied to radio coverage, creating consistent, professional and high-quality match commentary for fans.

“We will deploy a similar strategy for radio commentary for the GPL, DoL and WPL. So, beginning the 2025/2026 Season, we will have a well-synchronized, coordinated radio commentary of our GPL, DoL and some WPL games. This will bring clarity, professionalism, and create decent content for our consumers.” he said.

Emphasizing the transformative nature of the deal, the GFA President concluded with a rallying call: “A New Dawn is with us.”

With the new broadcast partnership, enhanced financial rewards and improved marketing efforts, the 2025/26 season is set to usher in a new chapter for Ghana’s top-flight football, one that promises greater competitiveness, higher production standards and a richer experience for fans across the country.
