Cal Bank and SOGEGH Maintain Steady Share Prices as Market Capitalization Holds Firm

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) witnessed a marginal increase in market capitalization to GHS 114.5 billion from GHS 114.4 billion, signaling improved investor confidence.

The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) rose by 4%, closing at 5,083 points, while the GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) climbed to 2,424 points, yielding a year-to-date return of 1.82%.

Banking Equities

Cal Bank traded 1,430 shares valued at GHS 543, with its share price remaining unchanged at GHS 0.38. The bank’s market capitalization stands at GHS 411 million, underpinned by 1.08 billion issued shares.

Societe Generale Ghana (SOGEGH) recorded 2,074 shares traded at a value of GHS 3,111. Its share price held steady at GHS 1.50, maintaining a market capitalization of GHS 1.06 billion with 709.14 million issued shares.

SIC Insurance Company PLC traded 11 shares valued at GHS 2.97, with its share price static at GHS 0.27. The company’s market capitalization remains at GHS 52.82 million, backed by 195.65 million issued shares.

Food and Beverage Equities

Benso Palm Plantation (BOPP) maintained its share price at GHS 25.26, with no trades recorded during the last session. The company’s market capitalization stands at GHS 879.05 million, based on 34.80 million issued shares.

Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC (GGBL) saw 35 shares traded, amounting to GHS 192.50. Its share price remains unchanged at GHS 5.50, while its market capitalization holds at GHS 1.69 billion with 307.59 million issued shares.

Market Activity Overview

Trading on Monday closed with a total volume of 155,568 shares and a trade turnover of GHS 392,527. The steady performance of key equities reflects cautious optimism among investors as the market begins the week on a stable note.
