Capital Market Quiz: Prempeh beats PRESEC with 0.5 point to lift trophy

In a riveting showdown, Prempeh College emerged victorious over Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC) in the 3rd edition of the 2023 Capital Market Quiz Competition. The prestigious event unfolded on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium, hosted by the University of Ghana Business School.

The competition featured four distinguished schools, namely Prempeh College, Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School, and Accra Academy, all vying for the coveted trophy.

Prempeh College clinched the top honors with an impressive overall score of 54 points, narrowly edging out PRESEC, who secured 53.5 points. Accra Academy and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School secured the third and fourth positions, accumulating overall scores of 50.5 and 47 points, respectively.

The champions, Prempeh College, were rewarded for their intellectual prowess with a substantial prize of GHS 12,000. PRESEC, despite their commendable performance, walked away with a GHS 6,000 prize. Accra Academy and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School also received recognition for their efforts, earning prize amounts of GHS 4,000 and GHS 3,000, respectively.

The Capital Market Quiz, organized by the Young Investors Network in collaboration with the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), Central Securities Depository (CSD), and other partners, serves as a platform to foster financial literacy among senior high school students. This annual event not only showcases the intellectual capabilities of participating schools but also contributes to the broader mission of promoting financial awareness and education.
