CDD-Ghana Congratulates Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Historic Election as Vice President of Ghana

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her historic election as Vice President of the Republic of Ghana.

This milestone marks her as the first woman to hold such a high-ranking position in Ghana’s political history.

In a congratulatory letter dated December 30, 2024, CDD-Ghana highlighted the distinguished contributions of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to the institution, recalling with pride her tenure on the Governing Board of CDD-Ghana from its inception in 1998 until her appointment as Minister for Education in 2013.

CDD-Ghana has expressed optimism that as Vice President, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will continue advocating for issues fundamental to the Center’s mission and Ghana’s progress. These include promoting transparent and accountable governance, fostering integrity in public life, and driving inclusive social and economic development.

“The Center wishes the Vice President-elect good health and success in her new role in the service of Mother Ghana,” stated CDD-Ghana.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s election is widely celebrated as a significant stride toward gender equality and inclusive leadership in Ghana.
