Chamber of Mines Congratulates Gold Fields Ghana for Landmark Stadium Construction and Community Initiatives in Tarkwa

The Ghana Chamber of Mines congratulates Gold Fields Ghana for re-constructing and handing over a state-of-the-art stadium in Tarkwa at 16.2 million US dollars to the National Sports Council.

This monumental achievement underscores Gold Fields Ghana’s unwavering commitment to sustainable community development and its role as a key partner in the socio-economic advancement of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Prestea Huni-Valley  Municipality and their environs.

The new stadium, with a seating capacity of over 10,000, is set to become a cornerstone of community activities, fostering sports development and providing a modern venue for various cultural and social events. This TnA stadium is a significant contribution to the well-being of the people of Tarkwa and surrounding areas.

Commenting on the inauguration of the magnificent stadium, Sulemanu Koney, CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, stated, “Gold Fields Ghana has consistently demonstrated its dedication to improving the lives of the communities in which it operates. The reconstruction of this stadium is a clear manifestation of Gold Fields Ghana’s commitment to driving economic development and enhancing the social fabric of Tarkwa. We commend the management and staff of Gold Fields Ghana for this significant contribution, which will be a legacy for future generations.”

Gold Fields Ghana’s investment in the stadium is part of its broader commitment to community development, which includes education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The company has invested in numerous projects to improve the quality of life in its host communities, reinforcing its position as a leader in corporate social investment within the mining sector.
