CORRECTION: Springfield Exploration unitisation story

NorvanReports wishes to correct an error in its article “Springfield’s New Data Contradicts Basis for Unitization with ENI’s Sankofa Field, ACEP Reveals” (October 21, 2024).

The article misquoted Ben Boakye, executive director of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy, who was speaking on the sidelines of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington DC about the unitisation dispute between Ghana’s government and ENI and its OCTP partners.

Our reporting incorrectly used the phrase “appraisal report” when Mr Boakye had said “appraisal programme”. Audio recordings confirm this error.

The error was a typo by the NorvanReports’ team and not attributable to Mr Boakye or ACEP and the correction has been done in the said story.

We regret any confusion this may have caused Springfield Exploration and Production Limited, the first Ghanaian-owned company to conduct deepwater oil exploration in Africa.

This publication reaffirms our commitment to providing accurate, thorough reporting on critical industry matters.
