Countdown to Glory: The Best FIFA Football Awards™ Set for Today
In a much-anticipated event, the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024 will be unveiled on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The ceremony is set to take place digitally, broadcast live from Doha, Qatar, at 20:00 local time. This special occasion coincides with the eve of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024™ final, where Real Madrid C.F. will face off against CF Pachuca.
The gala dinner, held at the prestigious Aspire Academy, will not only highlight the top talents in football but also celebrate the academy’s 20-year anniversary. Dignitaries including the FIFA President, FIFA Council members, and legendary figures from football will grace the event, emphasizing the global recognition and importance of this ceremony.
Fans have played a pivotal role in determining the winners across various categories. The voting system, designed to ensure fairness and inclusivity, incorporates votes from fans, current national team captains and coaches, as well as media representatives. Categories include The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, and the prestigious FIFA Puskás Award for the best goals in football.
For the first time, fans have also contributed to selections for The Best FIFA Men’s and Women’s 11, choosing from a list of 77 nominees to form their ideal teams. The expert panel’s input will weigh equally alongside fan votes, adding another layer of excitement to the awards.
