GPL: Angry Kotoko fans storm training grounds to demand sacking of coach Prosper Ogum

Disgruntled fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko barred head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his squad from accessing the Club’s training field in Adako Jachie on Tuesday, April 16, escalating tensions within the club.

Frustrated by a string of disappointing results in the Ghana Premier League, the irate fans disrupted the team’s regular training session.

As the Porcupine Warriors plummeted to 11th on the league table with seven defeats in nine matches, their once-strong position in the top half was surrendered to rivals Hearts of Oak.

The discontented supporters clamoured for the ousting of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his coaching staff, citing the team’s lacklustre performance as grounds for their demand.

The club is yet to release an official statement on the incident that transpired at the Adako Jachie in Kumasi.

Kotoko will take on league leaders Samartex 1996 in their upcoming fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 21.
