Stock Market: NewGold lose GHS 3.50 in share price

Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), NewGold, lost GHS 3.50 in its share price at the close of trading on Monday, September 5, 2022.

Due to the decline in share price, the equity’s closing price was GHS 166.5 from the opening price of GHS 170.

Despite the define in share price, the equity recorded a strong YTD performance of 53.31%.

NewGold emerged the sole decliner on the local bourse on Monday.

Aside NewGold, no change in price was recorded among the 10 equities traded on Monday. 

A total of 1,140,244 shares valued at GH¢4,986,318.12 was traded on the day. Compared with the previous GSE trading day (September 5), Monday’s data shows a 3698.15% increase in volume  traded as well as a 20031.54% increase in trade turnover.

GCB Bank  PLC. (GCB) accounted for 67.01% of the total value traded and recorded the largest volumes traded.

Market Capitalization for the day settled at GH¢64.49 billion.

The Accra Bourse on Monday, did not record any change closing at the same  mark as it opened at 2,508.99 points representing a YTD return of  -10.05%.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also maintained its  level to close trading at 2,079.94 points translating into a YTD return of -3.34%.
