David Asamoah Appointed Acting Managing Director of ECG Following Mahama’s Resignation
David Asamoah has been appointed as the acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) following the resignation of Samuel Dubik Mahama on September 25.
Mr Asamoah, previously the Deputy Managing Director in charge of Commercial Services, will assume the role on a temporary basis while the Government of Ghana, the sole shareholder of ECG, decides on a permanent appointment.
The announcement of Mr Asamoah as the acting MD for ECG was made by ECG Board Chairman Alexander Afenyo Markin.
Mr Asamoah brings extensive experience from his previous role as the Sectional Manager of Revenue, where he managed technical investigations and handled cases of illegal power connections, even testifying in court.
His appointment is seen as a move to ensure continuity in the company’s leadership during this transitional period.
