Division One League Matchweek 12 Wrap: Nsoatreman FC, Tema Youth and Samartex pick up vital wins

Nsoatreman FC kept hold of the first spot in Zone One as they beat Wamanafo Mighty Royals 2-0 on Match Day 12 of the Division One League on Sunday.

Dennis Boakye Yiadom and Solomon Adu were the heroes for the side as they scored in either half to move to 28 points after 12 League matches.

The League leaders are 4 points ahead of second placed Tamale City who drew blank against city rivals Steadfast FC at the Aliu Mahama stadium on Saturday.

In Berekum – there was a four goal thriller between Arsenal and Bolga All Stars at the Golden City Park. Yeboah Amos and Richard Mahama netted for the Gunners while Julius Naanio and Shadow Akuka scored for Bolga All Stars.

Arsenal have amassed 18 points after 12 matches –and stay in the fourth place in the log while Bolga All Stars sit in the 14th position with 11 points.

Papa Yaw Anderson for B.A United as he scored the match winner in a 1-0 win against Wa Suntaa.

Richard Asare and Akwasi Addae scored two first half as Samartex coasted to a 2-0 win over Swedru All Black in their Match Day 12 encounter on Sunday.

Asare drew the first blood in the 20th minute before Addae added the second nine minute as his flick beat the All Blacks goalkeeper before zooming into the net inside 29 minutes.

The win gives Samartex FC 9th victory of the season with the other 3 matches ending in draws.

They have accumulated 30 points – 7 points ahead of second placed Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs who drew with Nzema Kotoko.

Samartex have been unlucky in recent times after dropping points against bottom placed Achiken FC and Unistar Academy.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ansah and his guardsmen once again kept a clean sheet for the League leaders on home soil.

At Daboase – Skyy FC needed two first half goals to beat Basake Holy Stars 2-0 on Sunday. Baba Hamadu was first to score the opener with a towering header in the 5th minute as the Division One League Super Cup champions got off to a flying start. Mohammed Gomo added his name on the score sheet in the 34th minute to complete the job.

Skyy FC now moves up the table to the 5th spot in the log with 19 points – 11 points off the top.

Dadson Dacosta, Abdul Sawa Yahaya and Akoto Adomako hit the target as Soccer Intellectuals condemned Sekondi Hasaacas to a 3-0 defeat at the Adu Assasan Park at Ajumako. The defeat leaves the Sekondi lads further down the table in 14th place with 10 points.

Reginald Lartey scored a brace as Tema Youth beat Kwaebibirem FC 3-0 on Match Day 12 of the Division One League to keep hold of the 1st spot in Zone Three.

The youngster opened the scoring for the Harbour Warriors in the 4th minute after capitalizing on a defensive error to tamp home. The early goal unsettled the defence of the visitors as they always found life difficult any time Tema Youth attacked.

One of such onslaughts resulted in the second goal in the 33rd through Reginald Lartey for his second of the day as Tema Youth went into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

The home side added to the tally in the 67th minute as Adjei Martei received a pass on the edge of the box – went passed two players before firing home to extend their lead – this time putting the game beyond Kwaebibirem FC.

The win keeps Tema Youth at the top of the League log with 25 points after 8 wins, 3 defeats and 1 draw in the 12 week old League competition.

Second Oda Kotoku Royals recovered from their two match winless run to beat Akatsi All Stars 1-0 at the Oda Park on Sunday.

Richard Dzikoe scored the only goal of the match on the half hour mark to give the home side all the spoils – a result that has lifted them from third to second in the log with 24 points – one point behind leaders Tema Youth.

In another result, Vision FC held Akyem Susubiribi to a goalless draw at the Heroes Park at Akyem Tafo.
