Ghana Premier League: Points Shared in Opening-Day stalemate

Defending champions FC Samartex 1996 shared the spoils at Dreams FC while Vision FC failed to beat Berekum Chelsea in an entertaining stalemate on MatchDay-1 of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League.

Both Dreams FC and FC Samartex 1996 failed to break down each other at the Accra Sports Stadium in the opening match of the new season.

It was honours even in the capital after the defending champions put up a decent shift to earn a vital point on the road in a match which could spark early concerns for the home side.

Elsewhere, Vision FC had to share the points against Berekum Chelsea on the opening day of the season after a goalless draw at the Nii Adjei II Sports Complex on Saturday.

The home side were the stronger outfit for large periods of the game, particularly in the first half, and had plenty of chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Both sides had to scramble to keep the scores goalless as Vision FC made their bow in the Ghanaian top-flight.
