The GHS 15m target is on the back of growing intake of the Go Girl Policy by women – professional women in particular.

According to Chief Operations Officer (COO) of QiC, Cecil Ribeiro, premiums for the Go Girl Policy has increased from GHS 600,000 in 2019 to some GHS 4.7m in 2021.

Speaking to norvanreports on the sidelines of the event, Mr Ribeiro averred QiC is poised to make the Go Girl Policy the number one motor insurance policy in the country.

“We are looking to have this product sit on top when it comes to the motor insurance category. We want the Go Girl Policy to be number one in the country, for us at QiC we want the Go Girl Policy to be more than an insurance product. We want it to be a movement,” he told norvanreports.

The Go Girl Policy launched in 2019, is a comprehensive vehicle insurance product for professional women.

The insurance policy comes with added benefits such as the use of a courtesy car (for 10 days) at the time of claim, driver renewal process at the DVLA prestige centre and one-time complimentary vehicle service.

Dr Vanessa Mensah-Kabu, a medical officer at the West African Rescue Association and a social activist, is the third Go Girl Icon to be unveiled by QiC.

Mrs Obuobia Darko-Opoku and Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye – her predecessors – were the first and second Go Girl Icons respectively.

With her background as a medical doctor and large following on social media, Dr Vanessa Mensah-Kabu as the new Go Girl Icon, is expected to create more awareness about the Go Girl Policy and champion women’s health, particularly among policy holders.

Aside that, some of the proceeds from the policy will be used as donations to the Paediatric Cancer Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).

The Go Girl Policy is an award winning insurance product having won the 2019 CIIG Insurance Product of the Year and the Innovative Insurance Product for 2020 by the Ghana Insurance Awards.
