High ranking officials of the Government of Ghana together with rulers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and investors at the Dubai Expo 2020, will be celebrating the Ghana National Day on March 8, 2022.
The celebration of the Ghana National Day which is in recognition of the country’s 65th Independence Day, will be hosted by organisers of the Dubai Expo 2020.
Speaking to journalists on the Ghana National Day Celebrations at Dubai, was Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Yofi Grant, who averred the celebration will begin with the hoisting of the Ghana flag at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, followed by an inspection of the Ghana Pavilion by the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, at the Exhibition Centre.
Following the inspection of the Ghana Pavilion by the President, there will be business engagements with UAE investors to discuss investment opportunities in Ghana with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI).
There will also be a business forum for the Ministries of Housing and Works, Water and Sanitation, Energy, Finance and Communications to further engage investors looking to come and invest in Ghana.
On its part, the GIPC will facilitate business meetings between Ghana’s private sector and that of the UAE.
According to Mr Grant, the celebration of the Ghana National Day will end with the President hosting dinner for some very important persons in Dubai.
A side attraction to the dinner will be the unveiling of the Ghana flag on the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building.
The unveiling of the Ghana flag on the Burj Khalifa, Mr Grant noted, is to herald Ghana’s leadership on the African Continent recognizing its role as host of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement and an attractive investment destination in the West Africa sub-region.
“I am really looking forward to that, because it’s not every country that has had that privilege, so we are really looking forward to that,” he added.
