Ghana Reaffirms Commitment to Israel Ties, Lauds Developmental Partnership at 77th Independence Anniversary Celebration

Ghana’s Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with the State of Israel, highlighting ongoing cooperation in areas such as agriculture, health, cybersecurity, and innovation.

Speaking at the 77th Independence Anniversary Celebration of the State of Israel held in Accra, the Minister conveyed warm wishes from the government and people of Ghana to the Israeli people. He lauded the resilience and enduring spirit of Israel, describing it as an inspiration to nations around the world.

“Ghana and Israel share a long-standing relationship rooted in friendship, mutual respect, and a shared mission for progress,” Mr. Adjei remarked, noting that the partnership dates back to the early years of Ghana’s independence.

Over the years, the Minister indicated, the collaboration between both countries has deepened, with regular high-level exchanges and mutual commitment to development and innovation. He cited the participation of Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz, in the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama as a reflection of the enduring diplomatic and political ties between the two nations.

Mr. Adjei emphasized the impact of Israeli investment in Ghana, particularly in sectors such as agribusiness and technology. He referenced ongoing projects such as the Ghana-Israel Agribusiness Innovation Center and training programs offered by Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, which have equipped several Ghanaians with skills critical to national development.

“These areas of collaboration reflect our common goals and the strength of our bilateral ties,” he stated.
