  • Ethiopian Airlines Expands Services with Double Daily Flights to Accra

In a move that underscores its dedication to enhancing global connectivity, Ethiopian Airlines has announced plans to operate double daily flights to Accra’s Kotoka International Airport starting October 29.

This significant expansion will elevate the airline’s weekly offering to the Ghanaian market to an impressive 14 flights per week, showcasing its commitment to servicing Ghana and facilitating seamless international travel.

The flight schedule, which has received the stamp of approval from both the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), will see Ethiopian Airlines employing a diverse fleet to cater to the Accra market. Passengers can expect a mix of Boeing 737, 767, 787, 777, and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, ensuring a wide range of options for travellers.

This strategic decision positions Ethiopian Airlines as one of the largest foreign carriers serving Accra, Ghana. In essence, it signifies the addition of three more scheduled flights to its existing 11 weekly flights connecting Addis Ababa and Accra.

The airline’s enhanced frequency will encompass seven afternoon flights and seven evening/early morning flights, offering passengers more flexibility in their travel plans.

Notably, this increase in flight frequency is not only aimed at catering to the demands of individual travellers but also at facilitating smoother connections for passengers boarding sister airline ASKY Airlines.

ASKY Airlines operates flights from Accra to various destinations worldwide, and this expansion will undoubtedly provide passengers with a broader array of options for their international journeys.

Mrs. Aniley Eshetu, Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines for Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, commented on the positive response from customers regarding the added connectivity options, stating, “Our Ghanaian travellers will enjoy double daily connections from Accra to our more than 135 global destinations – including Gatwick, which will be re-joining our network as of November 21, 2023. With the increase in frequency, Ethiopian Airlines once again reaffirms its commitment to serve Ghana.”

She continued, “Why wait for another day when you can fly Ethiopian Airlines twice daily from Accra to more than 130 destinations around the world.

With the increase in flights to 14x per week on Ethiopian Airlines, it means you don’t have to miss that meeting in London, Paris, Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai, New York, Shanghai, Geneva, Nairobi, Johannesburg, or Atlanta simply because you missed your flight. Ethiopian Airlines is always here to fly you in the morning or evening.”

For the adventurous traveller, Ethiopian Airlines’ double daily flights open up exciting opportunities. Whether departing in the evening and arriving at your destination in the morning or exploring new destinations, these expanded services provide more flexibility for globetrotters.

Additionally, first-time travellers can relish the convenience of Ethiopian Airlines’ young and spacious fleet while experiencing the warm Ethiopian hospitality.

Now is the ideal time to embark on journeys that take you to different parts of Africa, uncover hidden gems in Asia, or visit family and friends in Europe and the USA.
