The Egyptian Stock Exchange’s (EGX) indices witnessed a mixed performance on April 1.

The benchmark index EGX 30 decreased 0.03% to close at 10,564.88 points. 

The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX 70 went up 2.28% to close at 2.013.92 points, while the broader index EGX 100 closed at 2,963.24 points, marking an increase of 1.81%.

Trading volume reached 464 million shares executed through 36,978 transactions, with a total value of EGP 1.006 billion. Market capitalization amounted to EGP 652.516 billion.

Egyptian investors made up 75.14% of total transactions, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 16.7 % and 8.17%, respectively.

Individuals represented 70.76% of total trades, while institutions contributed to 29.23%.

The top five performers by trading volume were Orascom Financial Holding, Dice Sport, Arabia Investments Holding, Orascom Investment Holding, and Lift Slab Misr.

However, the worst top performers by price were Memphis Pharmaceutical, Egypt Gas,  Kahira Pharmaceuticals, Speed Medical, and  Utopia.
