Final Funeral Rites for Nana Pooley: Ghana Football Community Mourns Devoted Kotoko Fan

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) came together to pay tribute to a beloved supporter of Asante Kotoko, Yaw Frimpong, known affectionately as “Nana Pooley,” during his final funeral rites held on March 6, 2025, at the Heroes Park, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led a delegation that included Vice-President Mark Addo, key football industry figures, and fans, all united in their grief.

Nana Pooley, who sadly passed away last month, was interred at the Ahafo Kukuom Royal Mausoleum. His funeral was attended by a significant presence from the GFA, including Executive Council members, Regional Football Association Chairmen, and club executives.

The gathering not only marked a farewell to a passionate fan but also celebrated his unwavering dedication to Asante Kotoko and Ghana football.

The event attracted football administrators, supporters, and enthusiasts from across the nation, reflecting the unity and camaraderie within the football community.

Nana Pooley was revered for his loyalty and fervent support for the Porcupine Warriors, and his passing is felt deeply among those who shared his passion for the club.
