Energy Ministry Suspends Gas Supply Amid Technical Fault on Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced a temporary suspension of gas supply following a technical fault on the Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah.

In a statement issued on May 11, 2025, the Ministry confirmed that the disruption was caused by damage to a compressor on the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit. The damage occurred on Saturday, May 10, 2025, around 4:00 p.m.

The statement by the Ministry revealed that preliminary assessments indicate the need for substantial repairs. The Ministry assured the public that a dedicated technical team is actively working to restore the gas supply as quickly as possible.

“The team is currently working diligently to implement necessary repairs to restore the supply of gas as soon as possible,” the statement read. It also noted that regular updates will be provided to keep the public informed as the situation evolves.
