EPL: Chelsea Earn Comeback Win Over Spurs To Go Second
In an exciting match on Sunday, Chelsea came from behind to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3, moving into second place in the Premier League. Cole Palmer played a key role, scoring two penalties that helped secure the win.
Tottenham started strong, with Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski scoring early goals. Solanke converted a cross from Brennan Johnson, while Kulusevski fired a low shot past the Chelsea goalkeeper. Manager Ange Postecoglou enjoyed a brief moment of hope as his team led 2-0.
However, Chelsea quickly responded. Jadon Sancho scored with a brilliant long-range strike, giving Chelsea a foothold in the match. The first half saw both teams creating chances, but Chelsea started to dominate as the game went on.
In the second half, Chelsea took control. Palmer leveled the score by converting a penalty after Yves Bissouma fouled Moises Caicedo. Enzo Fernandez then put Chelsea ahead with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
Tottenham’s defense struggled, especially after losing two key players to injury. Palmer earned another penalty when he was fouled by Pape Sarr, and he confidently scored again with a cheeky Panenka shot.
Son Heung-min scored a late goal for Spurs, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome. Chelsea held on for the win, extending their unbeaten run to seven games and closing the gap on league leaders Liverpool.
The defeat added to the pressure on Postecoglou, as Spurs have now won just once in their last seven matches, leaving them in 11th place. Chelsea, on the other hand, will look to build on this victory as they aim for the title.
