EPL Ghana Announces Graduation For Its Fifth Cohort Of Public Service Fellows

Emerging Public Leaders of Ghana (EPL Ghana), in partnership with Emerging  Public Leaders and the Mastercard Foundation, is proud to announce the upcoming graduation  ceremony for its fifth cohort of Public Service Fellows. The event will take place on July 16, 2024,  at the British Council, Ghana, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to  build the next generation of ethical, passionate, and effective public service leaders.

This year’s cohort represents a diverse group of talented young professionals who have  completed an intensive one-year fellowship program. During their tenure, these fellows have  worked across various government ministries, agencies, and policy organisations, contributing to  critical national development initiatives.

Ms. Juliet Amoah, Country Director of EPL Ghana, states: “We are immensely proud of our fifth  Cohort. These young leaders have demonstrated exceptional skills, dedication, and a genuine  commitment to public service. Their graduation is not just a personal achievement, but a step  forward for Ghana’s public service.”

Ms. Abigail Kajumba, Executive Director of Emerging Public Leaders, said: “As 25 young  Ghanaians prepare to join our pan-African Alumni Network of over 400 committed public service  professions – we reflect on the impact of training, mentorship, and investment in young leaders,  especially young women and people with disabilities, on good governance. The outstanding,  ethical leaders graduating serve as a cornerstone to better public policy and good governance of  tomorrow. In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, we look forward to the continued  career advancements of these young leaders!”

The graduation ceremony will feature a keynote address by Bernard Avle, a renowned Ghanaian  journalist and broadcaster. Mr. Avle is the General Manager of Citi FM and Citi TV and host of the  Citi Breakfast Show, one of Ghana’s most influential radio programs. With over 15 years of  experience in media and public affairs, Mr. Avle has been at the forefront of promoting good  governance and public sector accountability in Ghana. He was named the 2017 Journalist of the  Year at the Ghana Journalism Awards and is a recipient of the Young Global Leader award by the  World Economic Forum.

Mr. Avle’s insights on the role of young leaders in transforming Ghana’s public sector promise to  inspire our graduating fellows as they embark on their careers in the public service.
