Europa League last-16 draw: Man United face Real Sociedad, Spurs draw AZ Alkmaar
Manchester United will take on Spanish side Real Sociedad in the Europa League last 16, while Tottenham have been paired with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Rangers, meanwhile, will face Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in a tough knockout clash.
Should United progress, they will meet either Romanian league leaders FCSB or French side Lyon in the quarter-finals. Spurs or AZ Alkmaar will face the winner of Ajax versus Eintracht Frankfurt, while Rangers will go up against either Roma or Athletic Bilbao if they advance past Fenerbahce.
With United and Tottenham on opposite halves of the draw, there is a possibility of an all-English final in Bilbao, with a Champions League spot at stake for the winner.
In the Europa Conference League, Chelsea have been drawn against Danish outfit FC Copenhagen in the last 16.
The first legs of the last-16 ties will be played on Thursday, 6 March, with the return fixtures scheduled for 13 March. Chelsea will visit Denmark for their opening leg before hosting Copenhagen at Stamford Bridge a week later.
