FAGE Congratulates President Mahama on Election Victory, Pledges Support for Export Growth

The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) has congratulated His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of the Republic of Ghana.

According to the organization, his victory signifies the confidence of Ghanaians and the global community in his leadership capabilities.

In a statement, FAGE highlighted President Mahama’s unwavering commitment to agricultural transformation and export growth. It acknowledged his administration’s support for initiatives that have bolstered Ghana’s export capacity, particularly in the horticultural sector.

FAGE noted that the President’s understanding of agriculture’s critical role in job creation, foreign exchange generation, and economic transformation offers hope for the export sector’s future.

The federation is currently implementing ambitious plans to expand Ghana’s Non-Traditional Export (NTE) sector. Among its goals is to achieve export revenues of $5 billion by 2027 and $10 billion by 2029.

FAGE expressed confidence that the Mahama administration’s private-sector-focused policies would create an environment that would enable the realization of these targets, enhance the nation’s foreign exchange reserves, and create sustainable jobs in agriculture.

FAGE also emphasized its readiness to collaborate with the government to capitalize on opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). It believes this partnership could solidify Ghana’s position as a leading horticultural hub in West Africa.

The organization concluded by reaffirming its commitment to working with the government to strengthen Ghana’s export sector and maximize agricultural resource value while wishing President Mahama wisdom and success in his leadership.
