FIFA ban four Argentina players for final World Cup 2022 qualifiers

FIFA has announced that it has banned four Argentina players for the final two World Cup 2022 qualifying games.

This decision has been made following their fixture against Brazil, which saw the match abandoned due to international match protocols not being followed.

The game ended up being stopped after it had begun as health officials believed that COVID-19 rules were not followed, as the rules at the time demanded that people from the U.K. had to quarantine for 14 days prior to entering the country.

A trio of Premier League stars are involved with Aston Villa stars Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez being banned alongside Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero, with Giovani Lo Celso also set to miss the games.

Both Argentina and Brazil have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup, which is set to take place in Qatar, but FIFA did hand the Argentine FA a £160,000 fine for failing to comply with obligations.
