Financial Expert Korsi Dzokoto Launches Four Books on Financial Literacy
Ghanaian financial expert, investment advisor and economic policy analyst, Korsi Dzokoto, has launched four new books on financial literacy aimed at deepening financial education among children and adults.
The books—Money Smart Kids, Empowering Little Minds, Mastering Your Money, and Digital Financial Literacy—were written over a five-year period and cover areas such as personal finance, savings, investment, and digital money management.
Speaking at the launch, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Zakari Mumuni, underscored the urgency of financial literacy in the country, noting that nearly 68% of Ghanaians are financially illiterate.
“It means that too many of our citizens are vulnerable to poor financial conditions, unsustainable debts, and painful losses that come with unregulated investment schemes. This is why the Bank of Ghana has consistently championed financial education through consumer protection guidelines, financial inclusion strategies, and our work with schools and communities,” Dr Zakari stated.
Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), Abena Amoah, who also contributed to a panel discussion, stressed the link between financial literacy and economic growth.
“Financial literacy is about ensuring that everyone meets his or her full potential. If we don’t have the tools to ensure that we are financially literate, how do we then grow the economy?” she said.
Adding her perspective, Lecturer in Economics at the University of Ghana, Dr Priscilla Twumasi, noted that improved money management at the individual level translates into greater savings, investment, and economic stability.
As part of his contribution to advancing financial knowledge, Mr Dzokoto announced the launch of the “Project Educate One Million Children,” under which one million copies of the newly launched books will be distributed freely to children between now and 2026.
