First Bank Ghana picks up more awards

First Bank Ghana has picked up three awards (3) at the 2023 Global Brands Magazine Awards held at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok Thailand last week. The Bank also picked up five awards at the Ghana Finance Focus Awards that held last month at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. This brings to eight, the total awards won by the Bank within the first half of 2024.

At the Global Brands Magazine Awards, First Bank Ghana won the Best Corporate Banking Brand Ghana Award and the Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Bank Ghana Award, while the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Victor Yaw Asante, was recognised as the Best Banking CEO in Ghana.

The Global Brand Magazine Awards was established by the Global Brands Magazine in 2014 with the aim of honouring excellence in performance and rewarding companies that have performed extraordinarily in the fields of Finance, Education, Hospitality, Lifestyle, Automobiles and Technology. The awards are also given to acknowledge key players who strive for finesse, provide a platform for recognition, create awareness about the significance of exceptional service delivery, and to reward their performance with the ultimate global recognition.

Deepali Khanna, Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation, who is also Head of the Asian Regional Office of the Rockefeller Foundation, presented the awards to First Bank Ghana’s Allen Quaye, Head, Retail Banking, and Enoch Vanderpuye, Country Team Lead, Marketing and Corporate Communications. This is the second time First Bank Ghana has been honoured by Global Brands Magazine. The Bank received the Best Commercial Banking Brand and Best SME Banking Brand awards at the 2022 edition of the Global Brand Awards which was held in Dubai.

At the Ghana Finance Focus Awards, First Bank Ghana’s five awards included Bank of the Year and Finance Man of the Year, which was presented to Victor Yaw Asante. The third and fourth awards were presented to Semiu Lamidi, Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as the Chief Financial Officer of the Year and Most Influential CFO of the Year, and the fifth award for First Bank was Finance Team of the Year.

Winning the Best Corporate Banking Brand Ghana Award, the Best CSR Bank Ghana Award, and being recognised as the Best Banking CEO in Ghana in addition to the five awards at the Ghana Finance Focus Awards reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and service to our customers and communities. We will continue to remain steadfast in our mission to drive positive change, foster sustainable growth, and make a meaningful impact in Ghana’s banking industry. These awards inspire us to continue raising the bar and deliver exceptional value to all our stakeholders.”

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Semiu Lamidi, our ED/Chief Financial Officer, for his exceptional leadership and dedication, which have resulted in two well-deserved accolades. We are grateful to the reputable Global Brands Magazine Awards and Ghana Finance Focus for this recognition, and to our customers and stakeholders, we dedicate these awards to you.
