FirstBank Ghana Commits GHS 200,000 to Community Projects Under 2025 CR&S Week
FirstBank Ghana has announced a total commitment of GHS 200,000 towards five key community development initiatives as part of its activities marking the 2025 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Week celebration.
The annual event, which began on Monday, October 27, 2025 and runs through to Saturday, November 1, 2025, is being celebrated under the theme “SPARK – A Way of Life”, reflecting the bank’s focus on embedding kindness, responsibility, and service in the daily culture of its staff.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director of FirstBank Ghana, Victor Asante, stated that the bank’s CR&S investments are strategically designed to deliver measurable, meaningful, and sustainable impact.
“FirstBank Ghana is committing a total of GHS200,000 to support strategic community initiatives,” Mr Asante said. “Through these targeted interventions, we aim to deliver impact that is measurable, meaningful, and sustainable.”
He outlined the beneficiary organisations and corresponding support packages as follows:
Making Learning Happen – GHS50,000 to support access to basic educational resources for deprived schools.
Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Foundation – GHS50,000 to assist children and families battling childhood cancers.
Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Project – GHS50,000 towards critical health and infrastructure improvements.
Ghana National Polio Plus Committee – GHS30,000 to aid efforts in polio eradication and child health advocacy.
Rotaract District 9104 – GHS20,000 to support youth-led community development initiatives.

According to Mr Asante, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability form an integral part of the bank’s long-term business strategy and stakeholder agenda.
“CR&S reaffirms our social license to operate and reminds our stakeholders that FirstBank is a trusted institution that exists to create more than just economic value,” he said.
He added that the bank’s success is intrinsically tied to the well-being of its stakeholders.
“By investing in people and social causes, we demonstrate that our success is inseparable from their well-being, thereby strengthening our relevance and legitimacy in society,” he noted.

Mr Asante further emphasised that the bank’s consistent investment in social development enhances its brand credibility and customer loyalty.
“When our customers, regulators, shareholders, and partners witness our commitment to social progress, they gain deeper confidence in our integrity and long-term vision,” he remarked. “This trust directly translates into credibility, customer loyalty, and stronger brand equity in a competitive financial landscape.”
Now in its ninth year, FirstBank Ghana’s CR&S Week has become a defining feature of the bank’s corporate identity, reinforcing its commitment to community development and sustainable banking.
Mr Asante concluded that the celebration serves as a reminder that the bank’s brand promise, “You First”, remains not just a slogan but a philosophy guiding its operations and community partnerships.
