FirstBank Ghana Leadership Pays Courtesy Calls on Gulkpe Naa and Dakpema Ahead of Tamale Branch Commissioning

The leadership of FirstBank Ghana has paid courtesy calls on two esteemed traditional leaders in the Northern Region, the Gulkpe Naa, Alhaji Naa Abdulai Alhassan, at his Palace, and the Dakpema, Naa Bawa Fuseini, at the Dakpema Palace as part of activities preceding the commissioning of the Bank’s new branch in Tamale.

The delegation was led by Ms. Rosie Ebe-Arthur, Non-Executive Director and Mr. Victor Yaw Asante, Managing Director/CEO of FirstBank Ghana, and included other senior officials of the Bank.

The visits were aimed at formally announcing FirstBank Ghana’s presence in Tamale, seeking the blessings of the revered traditional authorities, and reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to becoming a long-term partner in the socio-economic development of the Northern Region.

Ahead of the visits, FirstBank Ghana demonstrated its dedication to the well-being of the community by lending a hand of support to the Healing Heart health screening exercise in collaboration with Hope Channel at the forecourt of the Dakpema Palace. The exercise provided free medical checks to residents, reflecting the Bank’s belief that sustainable community growth is rooted in both economic and social empowerment.

During the courtesy calls, Mr. Victor Yaw Asante expressed his appreciation to the traditional leaders for their warm welcome and outlined the vision behind the Bank’s expansion into the Northern Region. He noted that Tamale’s strategic position as a hub of trade, commerce, and culture made it an ideal location for FirstBank’s new branch, which will serve individuals, businesses, and institutions across the region.

According to Mr Asante, “coming to Tamale marks a significant milestone for FirstBank Ghana. Our visit to the Gulkpe Naa and the Dakpema is not only to seek their blessings, but also to affirm that FirstBank is here to walk hand in hand with the people of Tamale. We are here to support the aspirations of traders, entrepreneurs, farmers, students, and families by providing innovative financial solutions that foster growth and prosperity. Our presence here is a pledge to be part of Tamale’s story of progress.”

Both the Gulkpe Naa and the Dakpema welcomed FirstBank Ghana with open arms and commended the Bank for extending its footprint to the Northern Region. They highlighted the importance of financial institutions in driving development, creating opportunities, and offering platforms that empower individuals and businesses. The traditional leaders further assured FirstBank of their fullest and maximum support, emphasizing their readiness to work closely with the Bank to ensure its long-term success in the region.

With the blessing of the traditional authorities and the warm reception from the people, FirstBank Ghana’s new Tamale branch stands positioned as more than a financial institution, it is a partner in advancing the social and economic transformation of the Northern Region.
