FirstBank Ghana Supports Rotary Child-Centered Projects

FirstBank Ghana has reinforced its commitment to improving healthcare and education in Ghana with a significant donation of GHS80,000, raised by its staff, in support of the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central’s child-focused initiatives.

The donation was presented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Ghana, Mr Victor Yaw Asante, to the President of the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central, Mr Henry Lamptey, at a brief ceremony held in Accra.

This contribution will support the Club’s flagship projects, including the donation of four incubators to the neonatal units of selected health institutions to support the care and development of newborn, particularly those who are pre mature or critically ill. In addition, it will aid in the refurbishment of the ICT laboratories at the Abossey Okai Anglican Basic School and the Mataheko cluster of Basic Schools, thereby making learning more engaging and interactive, promoting a more effective learning experience and equipping young students with the digital skills needed to thrive in the 21st century.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Victor Yaw Asante reaffirmed the Bank’s firm commitment to delivering value not only to customers but also to the wider community. “At FirstBank, our purpose goes beyond banking; it is about making a lasting impact in the lives of people and communities. Supporting children’s health and education is central to building a stronger future for Ghana. This donation by our staff reflects our collective belief that every child deserves the opportunity to live, learn, and thrive. Whether it is ensuring that preterm babies survive their earliest days or giving young learners access to modern technology, we are committed to being a partner in national development.”

The Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central, which has a long track record of life-changing projects across Ghana, warmly received the support. President Mr Henry Lamptey, expressing gratitude to FirstBank, said, “We are deeply grateful to FirstBank Ghana and its staff for standing with us. This donation will directly touch the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our society: pre-term babies who need incubators to survive and school children who need ICT labs to prepare for the future. When corporate Ghana partners with Rotary, the result is sustainable solutions that change lives.”

The Bank’s donation aligns with its broader track record of investing in healthcare and education. Over the years, FirstBank Ghana has contributed to strengthening the health sector by supporting Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central to construct a modern hospital for the people of Berekuso in the Akuapim South Municipality, a facility that is expected to provide quality healthcare to thousands.
