Foreign Affairs Ministry Addresses Concerns Over Visa Application Processes at Embassies
Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has engaged embassies and high commissions in the country following numerous public complaints about the treatment of Ghanaian citizens during visa application processes.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 24, 2025, the Ministry highlighted concerns raised by applicants, including the lack of conducive waiting areas, the unavailability of emergency services, prolonged waiting times for appointments, and difficulties in navigating visa application websites.
The Ministry has urged foreign missions to implement appropriate and humane conditions to address these concerns and improve the overall experience for visa applicants.
“The Ministry would take steps to ensure that the embassies and high commissions comply with the directives stated in the Note Verbale,” the statement emphasized.
This intervention is expected to foster improved service delivery and a more dignified treatment of Ghanaian visa applicants at foreign missions.
