Former GIHOC MD Maxwell Kofi Jumah Arrested Over Alleged Financial Misconduct
Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been arrested by national security operatives over allegations of financial impropriety during his tenure at the state-owned beverage manufacturer.
Mr Jumah was picked up from his residence in Kumasi on Sunday, June 29, 2025, following what sources described as a formal request by operatives to speak with him. He was subsequently transported in a pickup vehicle to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, where he is currently being held in custody.
His arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct involving the unauthorized sale of company assets and irregularities surrounding the acquisition of vehicles under his leadership at GIHOC.
This latest development follows an earlier security operation on May 15, during which state agents attempted to retrieve official vehicles believed to be in Mr Jumah’s possession. However, he was reportedly absent during that exercise.
