Fourth edition of IoD-Gh Directors’ Week Celebration launched

The fourth edition of the Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) Week Celebration has been duly launched by the Institute with support from the Minister for Public Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe.

The week celebration themed, Good Corporate Governance and Ethical Leadership: An Essential Requirement for Organisational Turn Around, will commence with a strategic stakeholder engagement to discuss issues pertaining to good corporate governance and ethical leadership in promoting the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.

The strategic stakeholder engagement will also offer directors the opportunity to examine their governance structures and assesses their degree of preparedness in dealing with recovery from the Covid pandemic.

Commenting on the IoD-Gh Week Celebration during a virtual media launch, President of IoD-Gh, Rockson Dogbegah, stated the IoD-Gh has for more than two decades championed director professionalism and development in Ghana through advocacy, training and research in good corporate governance practices for the benefit of organisations, stakeholders and the overall prosperity of the country.

Speaking on the topic Ethical and effective leadership, Mr Dogbegah noted IoD-Gh is passionate about promoting ethical leadership and therefore shall continually lead the way through thought leadership as well as rallying resources around promoting effective and ethical leadership among organisations in the country.

Speaking also at the virtual media launch was Minister for Public Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe who stated the IoD-Gh is a very important collaborator in government’s efforts to deepen good corporate governance practices in public enterprises.

“The IoD’s work in this respect is very germane in terms of what President Akufo-Addo is trying to do in ensuring that public enterprises are efficiently governed.

“The institute has significantly impacted the country’s corporate governance landscape and continues to make valuable inputs to both the public and private sectors of the economy,” He stated.

The 4th IoD-Gh Week Celebration is scheduled to commence on November 16, 2021 to November 19, 2021.

The Week’s Celebration will be crowned with an Awards Ceremony to recognize individuals and companies that have distinguished themselves in promoting good corporate governance.
