Serie A: Juventus Returns to Winning; Milan pip Monza

Juventus secured a much-needed 2-0 victory against Udinese in Serie A on Saturday, putting an end to a frustrating three-game winless streak. The match, played at the Allianz Stadium, featured an own goal from Udinese’s Maduka Okoye and a well-placed strike from Nicolo Savona, propelling the home side back into contention for the top spots in the league.

After a recent setback in the Champions League and two consecutive draws in Serie A, Juventus showcased their resilience, remaining unbeaten in the league this season. The win catapulted them to third place, now sitting on 21 points—just four shy of league leaders Napoli.

The hosts wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Khephren Thuram coming close to breaking the deadlock early on. His fierce shot rattled the post in the 19th minute, but in a stroke of misfortune for Udinese, it deflected off Okoye and into the net, handing Juventus a crucial opening goal.

Buoyed by the early lead, Juve continued to press, doubling their advantage in the 37th minute. Savona capitalized on another rebound after Kenan Yildiz’s shot struck the woodwork, slotting the ball home to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

Udinese, determined to respond, came out with increased aggression in the second half. Despite their efforts, they struggled to penetrate Juve’s defense effectively. A late surge saw Lorenzo Lucca come agonizingly close, his header crashing off the crossbar as the visitors searched for a way back into the match.

The defeat leaves Udinese in seventh place, three points adrift of the European competition spots, while Juventus looks to build on this momentum as they aim for a title challenge in the coming weeks.

AC Milan edged past Monza with a narrow 1-0 victory, courtesy of a first-half header from Tijjani Reijnders.

The midfielder found the net just before halftime, nodding in after Alvaro Morata’s blocked attempt. Despite Monza’s dominance in the first half, Milan held firm, securing their spot in seventh place with 17 points, while Monza remains in the relegation zone in 18th with just eight points.
