CAF African Schools Football Championship Semi-Finalists Confirmed After Thrilling Match Day 2 in Accra

The semi-finalists for the CAF African Schools Football Championship Ghana 2025 were officially determined on Thursday following an exhilarating Match Day 2 at the University of Ghana in Accra. The competition has showcased intense action from both the Boys and Girls divisions as teams vie for a place in the knockout stage.

In the Boys division, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda emerged as the four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The host nation, Ghana, secured their spot by edging out South Africa 1-0 in their opening match of the day, followed by a commanding 3-0 victory over Algeria. Uganda also had a successful day, winning both of their matches against South Africa and Algeria with impressive scores of 4-0.

Reigning champions Tanzania faced a tougher challenge, managing to hold Cote d’Ivoire to a goalless draw before clinching a narrow 1-0 win against DR Congo, which was enough to ensure their progression to the next round.

In the Girls division, the Ghana U-15 national team also made headlines, qualifying for the semi-finals with strong performances. They defeated Benin 2-0 and followed that up with a decisive 3-0 victory over Malawi.

The defending champions, South Africa, demonstrated their attacking prowess by dismantling DR Congo with an astonishing 8-0 win, followed by a 5-0 triumph over The Gambia, making them the highest-scoring team in the group stages with a total of 13 goals.

As the competition moves forward, the semi-final fixtures are set for Friday, April 25:
