GACL Shuts Down McDan Aviation’s Terminal 1 Over $3 Million Debt
The management of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has taken decisive action by shutting down the McDan Aviation Private Jet Terminal, popularly known as Terminal 1.
This move follows McDan Aviation’s failure to settle an outstanding debt of over $3 million owed to GACL. During a visit to the facility, it was observed that two police officers had been stationed at the entrance to enforce the closure and restrict access.
Speaking on the development, the Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company Divisional Union of the Public Services Workers Union of TUC, Alhaji Abdul Issaka Bamba, stated that the payment of the debt was long overdue.
“The Union fully supports this decision by management. We will not hesitate to endorse similar actions against any other partners who owe the company,” Mr. Bamba warned, signaling a firm stance on debt recovery efforts.
This closure underscores GACL’s commitment to ensuring financial compliance among its stakeholders as it seeks to safeguard its operations and financial stability.
