GFA Charges 45 Division One League Clubs for Failing to Conduct Pre-Match Press Conferences
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken disciplinary action against 45 clubs in the Division One League for failing to organize mandatory pre-match press conferences ahead of their games over the weekend. This breach of protocol has raised significant concerns regarding the professionalism and integrity of the league.
The clubs have been charged for violating Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, 2019, along with the GFA Pre-Match Directives. All clubs involved neglected to hold press conferences before their matchday 22 fixtures across various zones in the division, which the GFA stated constitutes misconduct that brings the game into disrepute.
In a move to uphold the standards of the league, the GFA has given the clubs until April 8 to respond to these charges.
This situation mirrors similar actions taken against ten clubs in the Women’s Premier League, including Hasaacas Ladies, Police Ladies, Faith Ladies, Northern Ladies, and others, for the same infraction. They too have until April 8 to address the charges.
The GFA’s commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency within Ghanaian football remains steadfast, as they continue to enforce regulations aimed at enhancing the visibility and professionalism of the sport.
