GFA Charges Nsoatreman FC and Official with Misconduct Following Asante Kotoko Clash
Nsoatreman FC and their official, Kudus Bashiu, face serious charges stemming from their recent match against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has initiated proceedings against the club for multiple breaches of league regulations and the disciplinary code.
The charges arise from the incident where an unauthorized individual gained access to the inner perimeter of the pitch, resulting in a violent confrontation and the tragic stabbing of Kotoko fan Francis “Nana Pooley” Frimpong. Nsoatreman FC is specifically charged under Article 22(4) of the GPL for this breach.
Kudus Bashiu himself is accused of violating Article 12(1)(h) of the Disciplinary Code, alongside Articles 34(6)(d) and 22(3)(a) of the league regulations.
He allegedly entered the field unlawfully and assaulted Asante Kotoko player Mohamed Camara, an act that has been deemed misconduct and detrimental to the integrity of the game.
Both Nsoatreman FC and Bashiu have until February 24, 2025, to respond to the charges.
The GFA’s decisive action underscores the need for strict adherence to safety protocols in the wake of recent violence, as the organization looks to maintain order and security in Ghanaian football.
