GFA Elections: Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah joins Randy Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, others on Executive Council

Dr. Ransford Abbey (12), Frederick Acheampong (11), Nana Sarfo Oduro (10), James Kwesi Appiah (10) and Kingsley Osei Bonsu have been elected as Premier League representatives on the Executive Council following an exhaustive process at the Elective Congress on Thursday.

Dr. Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, Nana Sarfo Oduro and James Kwesi Appiah came up tops in the first round but the fifth spot needed to go to the third round after Kingsley Osei Bonsu and Elleony Amande both polled 9 votes in the first round.

The two candidates were separated by 6 votes in the third round after Kingsley Osei Bonsu polled 12 votes – 6 more than Elleony Amande to win the contest.

Gifty Oware Mensah Aboagye will represent Women’s football on the next Executive Council after she received massive endorsement by the twenty Women’s Premier League Clubs.

The Berry Ladies owner secured a unanimous victory with 20 out of 20 votes during the contest.

Gifty Oware Mensah will replace Madam Habiba Atta-Forson as representative of Women’s football on the Executive Council for the next four-years.
