GFA President Kurt Okraku Elected to CAF Executive Committee
Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), making him the sixth Ghanaian to hold this prestigious position.
His election was confirmed during a recent CAF congress, where he was unopposed, and his term will span from 2025 to 2029.
Okraku’s appointment to the 24-member committee is a significant recognition of his leadership and efforts to revitalize Ghanaian football since taking office in 2019.
Under his guidance, the GFA has implemented initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, promoting grassroots development, supporting women’s football, and focusing on youth programs. These initiatives have garnered respect and recognition within the African football community.
His presence on the CAF EXCO is expected to amplify Ghana’s voice in continental football discussions, contributing to the advancement of the sport across Africa.
Okraku joins a distinguished list of previous Ghanaian representatives on the committee, including Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.
