GFA to Meet Hearts of Oak and Kotoko Today to Discuss Club Proposals
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to meet with two of the country’s most prominent clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak SC and Asante Kotoko SC, on Monday to discuss outstanding proposals submitted by the teams. This meeting is part of the GFA’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with Premier League clubs.
The GFA has already addressed key safety and security concerns through the newly implemented Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocol 2025, which has been shared with all Premier League stakeholders. This initiative aims to ensure a safer environment for players, officials, and fans during matches.
In addition to discussing safety protocols, the meeting will also touch on the GFA’s recent establishment of the Autonomous Premier League. This initiative, championed by GFA President, has been officially registered as a company under Ghanaian law, with bank accounts opened by the Implementation Committee, led by His Majesty Togbe Afede XIV.
The GFA has effectively handed over control of the Autonomous Premier League to the Premier League clubs, and the next step involves each club submitting a board representative to join the company’s Board of Directors. This move is seen as a significant step forward in empowering clubs within the league.
The GFA is eager for Hearts of Oak and Kotoko to engage in this process as they work towards the successful implementation of the new league structure. Following the meeting with these two clubs, the GFA plans to convene with all Premier League clubs next week to discuss the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols and other pertinent issues related to Ghanaian football.
