Ghana Club 100 Awards: Newmont Africa Ahafo South Mine Adjudged the ‘Best Company in Ghana’ for Second-Consecutive Year
Newmont Africa’s Ahafo South Mine has been recognized as the best company in Ghana during the 21st edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards. Organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), this prestigious event celebrates the top-performing businesses in the country.
Maintaining its top position from last year’s awards, Newmont Africa outperformed notable competitors. Goldfields Ghana Ltd made a significant leap, climbing from fourth place last year to securing the second spot this year. Meanwhile, MTN Ghana retained its position among the top three companies.
The theme for this year’s awards was “Fostering Domestic Champions: Building Local Capacity.” This focus underscores the importance of effective corporate governance within Ghana’s private sector and aims to elevate local businesses to new heights.

Yofi Grant, the CEO of GIPC, addressed the audience, emphasizing the crucial role of a strong relationship between the private and public sectors. He expressed optimism that such collaboration could lead to substantial progress for the nation.
Yofi Grant also highlighted the pride the GIPC takes in honoring companies that have significantly contributed to the Ghanaian economy. This recognition not only celebrates their achievements but also encourages others to strive for excellence.
The awards ceremony honored the top 100 enterprises across various strategic sectors. These sectors included agriculture and agribusiness, financial services, ICT, infrastructure, petroleum, mining services, manufacturing, tourism, health, and education.
As his tenure approaches its conclusion in December, Yofi Grant received accolades for his numerous contributions to Ghana, Africa, and beyond. His leadership has been pivotal in promoting investment and economic growth in the country.
This year’s event featured three interactive sessions designed to foster networking and collaboration among business leaders. The first session was an Executive Networking Cocktail, allowing club members and executives to build and strengthen business relationships.
Following the networking session, the main event took place, where the honored businesses received their prestigious awards. This recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication to excellence in their respective fields.
The evening concluded with post-event celebrations, showcasing vibrant performances from talented artists. Gospel sensation Team Eternity Ghana, along with Akwanoah and Efya, provided entertainment that added to the festive atmosphere of the night.
In summary, the top 3 companies recognized at this year’s Ghana Club 100 Awards included Newmont Africa (Ahafo South Mine), Goldfields Ghana Ltd, and MTN Ghana.
